Reflective traffic signs are devices placed along, beside, or above a highway, roadway, pathway, or other route to guide, warn, and regulate the flow of traffic, including motor vehicles, pedestrians and other user.
Traffic signage, like any other traffic control devices, must meet five fundamental requirements:
- Fulfill a need
- Command attention
- Convey a clear, simple meaning
- Command respect from travelers
- Give adequate time for proper response
Roadsigns should be placed only where warranted by facts and engineering studies. Road signs that are unwarranted or ineffective may distract road users from more important traffic control devices.
Highways directional signs should be placed as necessary for safety and proper regulation of traffic. However, the use of too many road safety signs in a given location may reduce the effectiveness of all the signs at that location.
A full complement of traffic sign sizes and sign face panels are available from 600mm up to 900mm along with the options of sign boards and safety labels. The edges are sealed against moisture ingress with both class 1 or 2 reflective facing on aluminum sign or pvc sign surface.
